Incredible Iberostar Quetzal Wedding. Joanna + David

Newlyweds laugh at their daughters' icing faces

Joanna & David are a Jewish couple from France, who have been inseparable ever since they met at a friend’s birthday party in their early 20s. Even attending different colleges about 45 minutes away from each other, couldn’t keep them apart. One of Joanne’s favorite memories is camping in “Strawberry Fields” – a campground where they had so much fun finding tons of wild strawberries! David remembers their first vacation together in the Bahamas, where they had lots of adventures, meeting people and exploring the world.

Elway, the family puppy, unfortunately, was not able to attend the wedding. They missed him terribly and couldn’t wait to enjoy his puppy cuddles again, when they got back home!

They wanted a dream destination wedding as unique and special as they are, so chose Playa del Carmen’s incredible Iberostar Quetzal in Mexico’s romantic Riviera Maya. This tropical paradise, known for its stunning beachfront, vibrant wildlife, and Mayan-inspired architecture, set the stage for an unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and joyful moments.

From the moment Joanna stepped into her elegant wedding gown and long veil with intricate lace details, the air was filled with excitement. Making the most of their tropical location, they chose to have a beachside ceremony under an arch billowing white curtains. Barefoot toes in the warm white sand connected people with Mother Nature, reflecting the profoundness of all of our connections. Traditional Jewish details were overseen by a beloved rabbi, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. As Joanna walked down the sandy aisle, David’s emotional reaction said it all—confirming they’d both chosen their soul mates.

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Joanna and David exchanged lifelong vows under the tropical florals trailing from their wedding arch. The sound of waves crashing gently on the shore added a magical soundtrack to the intimate ceremony, making it all feel so right!

Following the ceremony, we captured stunning portraits of the newlyweds along the beach and within Iberostar Quetzal’s lush tropical gardens. Meanwhile, their guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour and dancing in the sand – to the Mexican music of a mariachi band. The dramatic sky at sunset provided the perfect lighting, creating a unique atmosphere, reflecting their deep connection.

A spectacular reception under twinkling string lights, had lively music and a dance floor that never emptied. Joanna and David’s celebration was filled with joy and happy energy. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, funny heartfelt speeches, and made plenty of lifelong memories.

As the night came to a close, the couple shared a final dance under the stars, marking the beginning of their forever journey together. It was an honor to document their love story and to witness such a heartfelt celebration in one of the most beautiful wedding destinations in Mexico.

Joanna & David hosted an amazing party in France the next year (2023) where they celebrated all over again with their friends and family – what an awesome pair these two!
